Dear fan friends,
At the beginning of 2022, Ineke got the idea to write
down her memories of more than 25 years of André
Rieu fan friendships.
Now the time has come that the books, in Dutch and
English, will be available in the second half of April
2024. The books contain 55 chapters, with 150 pages
of text and many photos. All fans involved have given
us permission to mention their names and post photos.
We self-published it for fans only, so, it is not available
in bookstores. We don’t make money from it, we only
charge the cost price (€ 16 and shipping costs € 5 NL
and € 10 abroad).
We thank the fans from all over the world who
contributed to this product. Entire chapters are
dedicated to specific fans (they reviewed, edited, and
approved the content). Other fans are only mentioned
in the text.

Sonja Harper happened to be in the Netherlands
and visited us, so, we could give her two books, one
in the Dutch and one in the English version. She is
the Godmother of all André fans, since all the world
wide fan-friendships started with her American blog
in 1996.
Sonja’s comment on Facebook: “I love the books,
so many great memories and so many dear friends.
After coming back from the lovely day reminiscing
with Ruud and Ineke I spent quite a few hours
reading and remembering the fun times we have
had. My love goes to all my friends around the
world. Thank you for the good times and wonderful
memories. And special thanks to Ruud and Ineke for
writing this book. I love it”.
May 17th, 2024. (André was touring through England)
Kevin Johnson (UK) on Facebook: “This book was ALWAYS SPECIAL with its personal message from
Ineke Cornelissen, but André signed it and said: “What book? Ah that book!!” Just wow xx! I asked Kevin;
“How did you manage to meet André?” His answer: “I was heading to the train station to go to Harrogate to
Sandy and Kev Mansell. As I approached it, coaches turned up at the hotel nearby so, I hung around a
while, until they exited the coach. They were all lovely, but André was very special of course.
So, until July 2024, Kevin Johnson was the only fan in the world who owned one of my books, including
André’s autograph.
In July 2024 we spent three weeks in Maastricht for 12 concerts. We
took two boxes with 30 ordered and paid books with us, for the fans
who prefered to pick up the book in Maastricht, to save shipping
costs.
Earlier we had already mailed 125 books all across the world.
Only one got lost. Our friend Zulma from Uruguay never received the
book. Other fan friends came to the recue:
We gave another book to Jorge and Marisol Orihuela from Argentina.
They promised to mail the book from Argentina to Uruguay. We hope
it will now reach its destination with Zulma soon.
We still have 20 copies of the book in store. Please contact us if you
still want to buy a copy.
And Kevin Johnson: now there are two fans in the world who own a
book with André’s autograph added!

In June 2024

Comment by Kyle Craft, living in California USA, on my book.
Posted on Facebook Harmony Parlor fan-group, on April 29th 2024.
Hi everyone. I was so happy to receive this new fabulous book this past week in the mail, written by our
dear friend Ineke. Thank you Ineke for putting this together and featuring me in it. I am very honored to be
one of the featured fans and wanted to say a few words about it.
As a little boy I was inspired to play violin after listening to Strauss waltzes at 2 years old. I started studying
violin at 3 years old. It wasn't until André came into my life 20 years ago, that I took music then seriously.
Never in my life would I have imagined that I would have not only met him, followed my dream, but have
made some really close friends through his music, who I proudly call my André family.
It is very true what Ineke wrote about me being different. I remember those days as a shy closeted gay boy
looking for acceptance and yes… I felt like Europeans and Aussies were more accepting. I clearly
remember telling Mrs. Ed (Edwina Morgan) and then her response was gold: "Yeah, we all know. LOL."
And my bff Isabel Sebastian: "Kween a girl's best friend is a gay guy".
The day/night I met Mrs. Ed, Liz Baker, Bobbie de Jong, Ruth and Jim, Kay, Jennifer, Barbara and her dad
(I think I am forgetting some people) was magical after all the chatting we had. I was so excited to be
featured on "Welcome to my world". Meeting André was so unexpected. He was so kind to go out of his way
to not only sign my violin, but also speak to me. The most precious moment of that was when he told me:
"You are to practice your scales, etudes and waltzes every day", which I obviously do, after I told him that I
was inspired by Strauss’ Waltzes to play violin and you (meaning he) made me the musician I am today.
He had the biggest smile on his face I have ever seen.
Now, almost 6 years later, as Ineke mentioned, my dream is
coming true. I am not only playing in several symphonies and my
production "An afternoon in Vienna" has taken off, I had the
pleasure to perform for the first time last year in Vienna on a
cruise ship on the Danube. What a dream come true.
Thank you again Ineke and my André family across the globe!
